Police Arrest 64 Suspects, Others In Delta

The Delta State has arrested a total of 64 suspects in Asaba, the state capital.

The arrests were made by the police during separate raids of black spots/criminal hideouts, which include uncompleted buildings and brothels.

The suspects were screened and those found wanting were charged to court.

The Police also impounded 50 motorcycles as well as 80 tricycles whose riders contravened the existing order banning motorcycles in some part

of the State contravening the state government directives to stop working after 2200 hrs were also impounded.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

The Police PRO advised members of the public to always obey government’s directives, particularly tricycles and motorcycle riders as the command will not relent in ensuring that their tricycles and motor cycles are impounded to serve as a deterrent.
