The Nasarawa State Police Command announced the arrest of 50 criminals in the state for kidnapping, cultism, and armed robbery.

The commissioner of police, Adesina Soyemi, paraded the suspects on Thursday at the command’s headquarters in Lafia, revealing that 12 individuals were detained for kidnapping, 22 for culpable homicide, 11 for cultism, and five for various offenses.

On March 30, operators captured one Isah Yakubu, who admitted to being a member of a known kidnapping/armed robbery syndicate terrorizing Fadama Bauna, Angbade, Arikya, Assakio, and the surrounding areas, according to him.

Soyemi said one Mohammed Igbira, a kidnapper who escaped from Jos correctional centre during the November 30, 2021 jailbreak, was among those arrested.

“Consequently, the Nigeria Correctional Services Jos, Plateau State had come to identify the suspect and a process of handing over is ongoing,” the police boss stated.
