PDP Reacts To Abba Kyari’s Ties To Internet Fraudster, Huspuppi
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded a forensic probe into accusations that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has linked DCP Abba Kyari, the head of the IGP Intelligence Response Team, to international fraudster Abbas Ramon, also known as Hushpuppi.
The discovery that Kyari, the chief of Nigeria’s intelligence response team, was a receiver of proceeds of international fraud is concerning, upsetting, and a stain on our country’s integrity.
It is deeply concerning that our country’s integrity has sunk to such a low level under President Muhammadu Buhari’s corrupt and fraud-patronizing All Progressives Congress (APC) regime, to the point where the head of its police intelligence section has been charged with international fraud.
Given the obvious rapport between Kyari and some prominent APC leaders, our party urges that the APC administration not throw this subject under the rug. We ask President Buhari not to “ease out” this corruption situation, but to restore the integrity and reputation of our country as soon as possible by permitting a forensic inquiry into the suspect.
Furthermore, if the Abba Kyari case is not handled properly, it will be a permanent stain on our police, security system, and nation as a whole.
As a result, the PDP is urging President Buhari to order the Inspector General of Police to summon Abba Kyari for questioning, with the possibility of his being handed over to the FBI if found guilty.
