EndSARS Massacre: 100,000 Nigerians Sign Petition To Arrest, Imprison President Buhari

Reno Omokri, a former presidential assistant, has amassed 100,000 signatures on a social media platform calling for President Muhammadu Buhari to be tried and imprisoned by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.

Omokri made the announcement following the recovery of the platform, which had been hijacked by hackers who, according to him, were paid by the White House.

The petition was filed on November 17, 2021, and in less than 48 hours, it had gathered 50,000 signatures. Then, on November 19, 2021, it was attacked by unknown hackers just as it surpassed 80,000 signatures.

The petition was restored to its original language and reinstated on Friday, November 26, 2021, following direct conversations between Omokri and those administering the platform, and it reached 100,000 signatures and counting less than 24 hours after it was restored.

The petition was filed after the Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry on EndSARS denounced the Buhari administration in its report to the International Criminal Court.

The petition is the first of Nigerian origin to reach 100,000 signatures in 96 hours (the time it was hacked is not counted), demonstrating the Nigerian public’s desire to hold Buhari accountable for the heinous murder of young Nigerians on October 20, 2020, as Buhari feared EndSARS would lead to his overthrow.
