A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Noah Adigun, has been confirmed dead.
The party confirmed Adigun’s demise in a statement issued on Wednesday morning, noting that the politician died after battling diabetes for a few weeks.
The former Ogbomoso North Local Government Area Chairman died on Tuesday, December 27 at age 70.
The statement released by his party stated that he died in a hospital where he had been on admission for diabetes complications for about a month.
Adigun who is fondly known as Oba Ni Jesu, was said to have been elected chairman of Ogbomoso North LGA on the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) over two decades ago.
The party’s statement reads: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ogbomoso North Local Government regrets to announce the shocking death of one of its leaders, Hon Adigun Olatunji Noah, who passed away today after a very brief illness.
“Oba Ni Jesu, as the deceased was fondly called, was the former Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government and a strong pillar of Akala Political Dynasty.
“May the Lord rest his soul peacefully, comfort the family he left behind and grant them the fortitude to bear this great loss”.
