How Gunmen Attacked Department Of State Services’ In Anambra, Killed Two Personnel

Unidentified gunmen ambushed Department of State Services (DSS) employees in Anambra State on Friday, killing two people.
The officers were ambushed by gunmen while on election campaign duty in the Ekwulobia area of the state, according to SaharaReporters.

Bullets riddled the windshields of automobiles in some footage and images depicting the magnitude of the firepower used against the security personnel.

It was earlier reported that the Biafran National Guard, one of the groups agitating for the independence of Southeast Nigeria, declared war on the Nigerian government as it announced October 30, 2021, as the independence day of the region.

In videos obtained by SaharaReporters, some armed men who identified themselves as members of the Biafran National Guard were seen saying they were ready for war.

It had also been reported that the unknown gunmen on Friday shot dead several people in the same Ekwulobia area.
On Thursday, the Director of Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement also confirmed a gun battle between the army and the gunmen, leading to the death of one of the attackers.

According to the statement, the gunmen allegedly attacked troops’ location at Amaekpu in the Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State on Thursday, October 28, 2021.
