Osun Governor Mourns Former Ex-military Administrator, Colonel Obi

The death of Colonel Anthony Obi, a former military administrator of Osun State, has been characterized by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola as a terrible and tremendous loss to his family and the nation.

Governor Oyetola expressed his condolences to the family of the late former military administrator in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, on Sunday. He praised the late former military administrator’s contributions to Osun State, saying he was one of the leaders who laid the state’s foundations.

Colonel Obi’s death was significant and sad, but the Osun governor said he was a bold, committed, and experienced military commander who served Nigeria and Osun tirelessly and passionately during his lifetime.

The Osun helmsman expressed his sympathies to the late administrator’s family, urging them to find solace in the selfless, professional, and humanitarian legacy he left behind.

He prayed for the deceased’s everlasting repose as well as the strength to face the loss of his family, friends, and connections.

Obi, who was the military governor of Osun State from August 1996 to August 1998, died on January 1st, according to his family.
