Asari Dokubo Opens Up On Attacking President Tinubu

Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, has spoken on reports that he is fighting President Bola Tinubu.

Dokubo refuted rumors of any conflict between himself and President Tinubu, asserting that their relationship extends beyond politics and is based on a personal connection.

Recall that the ex-militant leader had knocked Tinubu weeks ago over some of his actions since taking over power including his lopsided appointments. That was a sort of U-turn by Dokubo who had always backed Tinubu strongly.

However, Dokubo stated that he is not attacking Tinubu while expressing his unwavering loyalty to the President during a meeting with businessman Tein Jack-Rich at his residence in Obuama, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Jack-Rich, in turn, urged Asari Dokubo to maintain his steadfast support for President Tinubu, emphasizing the potential for economic development in Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta region. The businessman also committed to collaborating with Dokubo to facilitate lasting peace in Rivers State amid the recent political crisis involving Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former Governor and current Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

During the interaction, Dokubo expressed gratitude to Jack-Rich for promoting peace, unity, and social cohesion among Nigerians. He disclosed that, in light of Jack-Rich’s appeal, he has set aside his differences with Governor Fubara. Dokubo urged Governor Fubara and Minister Wike to amicably resolve their disputes in the best interest of the state’s peace and sustainable development.
