OFFICIAL: Chelsea Complete Signing Of Lukaku On Five-Year Deal

Romelu Lukaku, a Belgian striker, has agreed to a five-year contract with Chelsea in the English Premier League.

Lukaku’s return to the club was announced by the London club in a statement on Thursday.

Lukaku, 28, joined the London club in 2011 but left in 2014.

“One of the most prolific strikers in European football, Lukaku has returned to the club he supported as a young boy and where he has unfinished business, having been on our books between 2011 and 2014,” Chelsea said in the statement.

“The Belgian has signed a five-year contract and will add attacking firepower to Thomas Tuchel’s squad of European champions.”

Lukaku, who was named Serie A’s best scorer last season, helped Inter Milan win their first league title in 11 years by scoring 24 goals and making 11 assists.

Lukaku said in a statement that returning to Chelsea is the greatest thing for his career.

“I’m happy and blessed to be back at this wonderful club,” said Lukaku.

“It’s been a long journey for me: I came here as a kid who had a lot to learn, now I’m coming back with a lot of experience and more mature.”

“The way the club is going fits my ambitions perfectly at 28 and just coming off winning Serie A.

”I think this opportunity comes at the right time and hopefully we can have a lot of success together,” Lukaku added.
