Nollywood: August, month of babies and love

In the midst of the ongoing drama in the country, as regards the economy, 2019 is still quite awesome for Nollywood practitioners. Series of good news have been coming up about Nollywood queens, and kings of late. While some are celebrating wedding anniversaries, some are throwing baby shower parties and some are welcoming bundles of joy.

It’s no longer the Nollywood of old where scandalous updates were the industry’s signature. Today’s movie celebrities are standing for the positive and fast transforming to great role models for their fans. In a nutshell, they are finding their own ways to make a difference, upholding values and doing meaningful stuff to drawing attention to causes that matter.

Indeed, this season has been a great blessing and joy for actors of the Yoruba movie industry. Meanwhile, Global Excellence is doing a review of what is currently happening with Nigerian movie stars.

Toyin Abraham

Famed movie goddess, Toyin Abraham, ideed, opened the floodgate of celebrations when she held her baby shower bash where some of her top-rated colleagues were present to honour her and her hubby, Kolawole Ajeyemi, a fellow actor.

The news of her delivery came soon surfaced online with pictures of her ‘secret’ wedding to Ajeyemi a.k.a Awilo.

Tunde Owokoniran

Nollywood actor, Tunde Owokoniran and his wife, Tunmise, few days ago welcomed their second child in the US and shared the photos of the new baby on social media announcing that all was well.

The Owokonirans have already been blessed with a baby girl, making the new joy their second.

Ronke Odusanya

Star Yoruba actress, Ronke Odusanya, also welcomed her first baby on Monday, August 19, 2019.

The beautiful actress popularly called Flakky Ididowo, announced the arrival of the baby expressing her joy about the new arrival thanking God for making it possible.

Ruth Kadiri

Ruth Kadiri is also not left out. This Nollywood queen had her baby over one week ago but the public wasn’t aware until a few days after. The 30 year old actress also gave birth to her first child.

Ruth got married to her heartthrob, Ezerika, in November, 2018. A photo of her holding her growing baby bump had surfaced online five days before she put to bed.

Funke Akindele

For ‘Jenifa’, seasoned actress, Funke Akindele, it was double celebration time as she clocked 41 on Saturday August 24th 2019. It was also a moment for Funke and her hubby, Abdulrasheed Bello popularly called JJC Skillz, to celebrate the third anniversary of their wedding.

Maureen Solomon

Maureen Solomon is another pretty Nigerian movie queens expecting a baby; it’s going to be her third with her millionaire husband, Solomon, who is currently keeping a low profile.

Maureen also shared a photo of her baby bump on her Instagram handle days back. Interestingly, Maureen is having another baby twelve years after her second.

Mercy Johnson

Lasting love and relationships in the entertainment industry is an uncertain issue given the high rate of divorces. However, despite the unsavoury reports trailing celebrity marriages, Nollywood star actress, Mercy Johnson, and her husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, have made fans believing that true love promises eternal joy. The happily married couple celebrated their eight years wedding few days ago with nice photo shoots posted on their social media page.

Afeez Oyetoro a.k.a Saka and Tchidi Chikere

Two months earlier, star actor, Afeez Oyetoro popularly known as Saka, had taken to his social media handles to announce the anniversary of his wedding. Likewise, film maker, Tchidi Chikere and his actress wife, Nuella, announced the fifth anniversary of their wedding.

Kehinde Adepeko

Nollywood actress, Adepeko Kehinde, has also joined the list of women having babies. She welcomed a baby girl seven days ago. Kehinde said on her social media page that she had a lot to be grateful for after welcoming her baby, while thanking her twin sister, Taiwo, for her care and support during and after childbirth.

Tayo Amokade a.k.a. Ijebu

Comic actor, Olatayo Amokede popularly known as Ijebu, was all grins recently after his wife gave birth to a baby girl. The funny thespian was posed on his Instagram with the adorable photo of the newborn.

Love is indeed a beautiful thing and finding the right person to spend the rest of one’s life with is even more beautiful.
