President Bola Tinubu has made a strong reassurance to Nigerian workers.

The President promised that his administration would implement a new national minimum wage this year to alleviate their challenges.

In a nationwide broadcast on New Year’s Day, the president expressed his commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian feels the impact of the government.

Tinubu stated, “It is in this spirit that we are going to implement a new national living wage for our industrious workers this New Year. It is not only good economics to do this, but it is also a morally and politically correct thing to do.”

Emphasizing the economic aspirations and well-being of the poor, vulnerable, and working people, he assured that these groups would not be neglected. Tinubu highlighted his government’s dedication to simplifying fiscal and tax policies to create a business environment that adds value without impediments.

During his foreign trips, the President consistently conveyed the message that Nigeria is prepared and open for business. He pledged to address obstacles hindering business competitiveness, both local and foreign, to make Nigeria a preferred investment destination.

In his 2024 Budget presentation to the National Assembly, Tinubu outlined eight priority areas for his administration, including national defence and internal security, job creation, macro-economic stability, investment environment optimization, human capital development, poverty reduction, and social security. He underscored the serious commitment to achieving governance objectives reflected in the 2024 budget.
