LIVE UPDATE: ReRun Election in Sokoto, Benue, Kano, Plateau

The people of Sokoto, Benue, Kano, Plateau states will return to the poll to conclude the governorship election in their respective states.

INEC declared winners in the governorship elections in only 22 states.

However, the Returning Officers (ROs) in Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto states, declared the elections inconclusive.

Supplementary elections will hold in the affected states except for Adamawa, Bauchi and Rivers states.

In Sokoto, Governor Tambuwal is already leading the poll with 3,413 votes. Tambuwal polled 489, 558 in 12 LGAs while the APC candidate polled 486,145 in 11 LGAs.

According to INEC, the number of cancelled votes in the state is 75,4003. The commission also announced that the votes are spread among 136 polling units in 22 of the 23 local governments in the state.

In Plateau, the incumbent Governor and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Simon Lalong was leading after polling 583,255 votes while his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Jeremiah Useni, got 538,326 votes.

INEC declared the election inconclusive in Benue, following the cancellation of the electoral process in nine Local Government Areas of the state.

The incumbent, governor Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, currently leads the poll.
