BREAKING: Obaseki’s Deputy, Philip Shaibu, Also Dumps APC

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, has followed in the footsteps of his boss, Godwin Obaseki, to leave the All Progressives Congress.

Mr Shaibu announced his exit from the party on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, fourteen of the 24-member Edo State House of Assembly have declared their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers, who have been on self-exile over issues bordering on the inauguration of the Assembly on June 17, 2019, stated this shortly after Governor Godwin Obaseki dumped the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party.

Obaseki resigned his membership of the APC after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.

The governor was last Friday disqualified by the APC from contesting the forthcoming governorship primary of the party in Edo over alleged discrepancies in his certificates.
