Kogi Lawmaker Makama, Others Kidnapped By Gunmen From Abuja Hotel

Gunmen kidnapped an unspecified number of people from an Abuja hotel, including Friday Sani Makama, a two-term former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

Makama ran for the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) in the IgalamelaOdolu State constituency.

The attack took place in the early hours of Thursday, when heavily armed men stormed the Hilltop hotel in Tugun Maga village, in the FCT’s Zuba area.

According to Kogiflame, the hotel manager made a distress call to a family member related to Makama, Prince Frederick Adejoh (Oma Onu Aya), and others, claiming they had been kidnapped.

The motive for the operation and whether the armed gang is kidnappers are still unknown.

The armed men fired erratic shots into the air to frighten the security guards and grabbed the hotel owner and guests.

Mr Adejoh Maquile, the hotel’s manager, confirmed the story, saying there were signs of blood on the ground and that they could identify who among the victims had been injured.

The hotel is located in Tunga Maje, which is renowned for gunman attacks on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
