Police Radio Station Will Promote Community Policing – IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, has said the establishment of the Nigerian Police Radio, 99.1FM is to promote community policing and bring the people closer to the government.

This was said yesterday, 31st of March 2021 by Mr Mohammed Adamu during the inauguration of the Radio station in Abuja

He also said it was part of his strategies as the 20th IG to combat crimes and stabilise security across the nation.

Mr Mohammed Adamu also thanked the Federal Government for the continued effort to ensure that Nigerians are safe and secured.

He also thanked the Federal Government for the support given to the Nigerian Police, he the added that the Radio Station has started test transmission in line National Broadcasting Commission code and operational rules

The Police Radio Station will educate Nigerians on policing activities and other security related matter, the station will also air phone-in programmes to involve the citizens in the security of their localities and ways to spot and identity crimes

Similarly, Malam Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity said the Police Radio Station was set up at a time like this when misinformation has become a cause for concern globally.
