According to reports, three people were killed when a piece of the Stephen Keshi International Stadium in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, fell while under construction.
The National Sports Festival is set to take place at the stadium this year, and the stadium’s ongoing construction was recently inspected by Sunday Dare, the minister of sports and youth development.
Although the exact reason for the collapse is yet unknown, it was learned that the rush of the construction to fulfill the project’s delivery date for usage is likely a contributing factor.
