JUST IN: Former Kano Governor Speaks on Defection from PDP to APC ahead of 2023
The former governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said he remains a member of the opposition PDP.
Kwankwaso stated this when he appeared on Arise TV earlier today.
Responding, Kwankwaso said: “I am still a member of the PDP.”
Speaking on his relationship with Governor Ganduje, Kwankwaso said; “on personal grounds, there is no issue. But on governance, we are not satisfied with what he’s doing. And that’s the genesis of the negative relationship when he got elected. Take, for example, I don’t believe in borrowing. i never borrowed in my two terms. We believe in quality education and sent our people to universities across Nigeria. we built two universities as well. We don’t believe in borrowing.”
Kwankwaso also spoke on the suit by Uche Secondus, suspended PDP national chairman, asking the court to suspend the party’s national convention.
He said he had advised the PDP to allow Secondus and his team to complete their term since they have just had a few months left.
The former minister of defence said the current crisis would have been averted if his advice was heeded.
He said Secondus’ suit has created uncertainty which is not good for the party’s convention as people who are supposed to be in Abuja are somewhere else waiting for the court verdict which is expected on Friday, October 29.
