JUST IN: Buhari’s Top Ally Escapes Assassins’ Bullets In Kano

Unknown gunmen suspected to be hired assassins last night attacked the residence of Farouk Adamu Aliyu, a frontline ally of President Muhammadu Buhari in Kano.

DAILY INDEPENDENT gathered that the attack on the residence of the APC chieftain and former member of the Federal House of Representatives left his security guard injured.

Zuwaira Aliyu, wife to Farouk Adamu Aliyu in her verified Facebook timeline, said: “My husband escaped hired assassins last night in Kano. May Allah continue to protect him and us Ameen.”

The police authority in Kano through its local Image maker, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the story.

SP Kiyawa said the intelligence unit have a manhunt on the fleeing gunmen, as he assured the police would not rest on its oars until those behind the attack are brought to book.

The attackers, it was learned, forcefully gained entry into the house and injured the security men stationed at the gate.

The gunmen reportedly tied the security personnel on duty but couldn’t reach Aliyu’s family.

The account said the timely arrival of a detachment of combat-ready anti-riot police officers saved the day.
