JUST IN: Bandits Abduct Secretary To Katsina State Government’s Brother

Kabir Muhammad Inuwa, the brother of Mustapha Inuwa, the Secretary to the Katsina State Government (SSG), has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected of being bandits.

According to SaharaReporters, Kabir was kidnapped on Wednesday when highly armed men stormed his farm in the village of Daftau in the state’s Danmusa Local Government Area.

Despite being President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina has seen intermittent attacks by bandits and kidnappers that have taken many lives.

In the last five months, gunmen are said to have killed around 1000 individuals in Jibia, Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa, and Safana Local Government Areas of the state.

On December 11, 2020, 344 students from Kankara’s Government Science Secondary School were abducted by bandits. A week later, they were released.

On the same day, 84 Islamiyya students from Hizburrahim Islamiyya in Mahuta village, Dandume Local Government Area, were kidnapped but later rescued.

While debating the deterioration of insecurity under the current administration, some members of the State House of Assembly shed tears for the Buhari-led government during a plenary session.
