How FCCPC CEO Reacted To His Sudden Sack By Tinubu

The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Babatunde Irukera, has responded to his dismissal from office by President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement on Monday, President Tinubu ordered the immediate removal of Babatunde Irukera as the EVC/CEO of FCCPC, as part of the ongoing plans to restructure and reposition critical agencies of the Federal Government. The President also approved the dismissal of Alexander Ayoola Okoh as the Director-General/CEO of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE).

Reacting to the President’s directive, Irukera expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve Nigerians and acknowledged the vibrant and loyal citizens and consumers who deserve a better deal. On the X platform, he stated, “Grateful for the opportunity to have served the incredibly vibrant & loyal Nigerian citizens/consumers. They deserve a better deal. I leave behind a strong Institutional advocate in the FCCPC, & an outstanding team of soldiers who work there daily for the cause of fair markets.”
