INEC Creates Additional 770 Polling Units For Gombe

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) says it will creates additional 770 polling units to the existing 2,218 following the expansion of voter access to the polling units.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, disclosed this development during the stakeholders’ meeting held on the expansion of voters access to some polling units in the state.

He explained that the increment would bring the total polling units in the state to 2,988.

According to him, the inherent polling unit structure in the state was created in 1996, hence, the need to expand, stressing that field officers have gone round the local government area and had captured the required information using GPRS.
