IGP visits Zamfara to execute president’s’ orders to fight bandits

The Inspector-General of Police, (IGP) Mohammed Adamu today arrived Zamfara State as part of moves to end activities of armed bandits and other criminal elements.

The IGP who was accompanied by the Director-General Security Services, Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, Director General National Intelligence Agency, Alhaji Rufai Ahmed, DIG Force Intelligence Department, Ibrahim Lamorde, Chief of Defence Intelligence AVM, Mohammed Sani Usman, Force Public Relations Officer DCP Frank Mba among others said he was in the state to see things for himself.

The IGP later paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gusau Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, where he told the Emir that, the visit is in compliance with President Mohammadu Buhari’s directives to end the lingering security challenges bedevilling the country and north in particular.

The IGP also visited the Executive, Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, informing the Governor of the purpose of the visit which emanated from the Presidential matching order to bring an end to all forms of criminal activities in the north-west and country in general.

“The security agencies are therefore seeking the support and cooperation of all the stakeholders in the quest to quell the dastard development”.

In their separate remarks, the Governor and the Emir expressed gladness for the visit and vowed to support the security agencies in their determination to overcome the security challenges in the state.
