Abduction Of Bayelsa SSG’S Mother: One arrested As Military Lead Investigation

The Nigerian Army has captured a 27-year-old suspect 25 days after the kidnapping of Madam Bentinal Benson, the 86-year-old mother of the Secretary to the State Government of Bayelsa State.

The culprit was apprehended just days after the Nigerian Army took over the investigation into the kidnapping. 

The kidnappers had previously sought N500 million in ransom for her release. 

It was previously alleged that her kidnappers, who broke into her home at the old Assembly quarters, Azikoro road, Yenagoa, were clothed in military attire. 

The suspect, named Stanley Woniowei, is a native of the Olugbobiri community in the state’s Southern Ijaw Local Government region.

The suspect whose name was given as Stanley Woniowei, is an indigene of Olugbobiri community in Southern Ijaw Local Government area of the state.

It’s gathered that the Nigerian Army troops from 16 Brigade are leading a joint operation with other security agencies in the state to rescue the abducted 86 years old victim.

Investigations showed that the arrested suspect was allegedly involved in the abduction on the 20th of July at the Old State Legislators quarters off Azikoro road in Ekeki area of the state.
