JUST IN: Panic As Soldiers Open Fire On Hoodlums That Hijacked Truck Carrying Food

Nigerian soldiers reportedly responded to suspected hoodlums who hijacked trailers loaded with foodstuff in the Suleja Area of Niger State by opening fire.

The incident unfolded on Thursday as numerous trailers traveling from Abuja to Kaduna were obstructed by the hoodlums, who set tires ablaze on the road.

Alhassan Abdullahi, an eyewitness who spoke with Daily Trust, recounted that many bags of assorted foodstuffs, particularly rice, were looted before the soldiers intervened.

Abdullahi stated, “It took the intervention of soldiers who arrived at the scene and began firing gunshots in the air to scare the hoodlums away. But even with that, many of them went away with bags of rice and cartons of spaghetti and other food items. We learned commercial motorcycle riders are also planning a protest. They would have done it since yesterday, but we didn’t know what stopped them.”

This incident occurs against the backdrop of nationwide hardships that have sparked protests across various regions of the country.
