[BREAKING] #EndSARS Memorial: Sanwo-Olu Orders Release Of Protesters Arrested In Lagos
On Thursday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ordered that all End SARS protesters arrested in the state be released.
The commemoration of the October 20 Lekki toll gate shooting by the military took place on Wednesday.
Sanwo-Olu ordered that all innocent and peaceful citizens apprehended be released right away.
Only the man caught with deadly weapons, including a machete, at the toll gate will face charges.
“Everyone arrested in connection with the protest have all been released, except an individual that was caught with dangerous weapons.
“He who confessed to the police that he joined the protest to cause mayhem,” the governor disclosed.
Sanwo-Olu praised the police for being aware of their obligation to detect and separate lawbreakers from the general public.
The Lagos governor urged youths to participate in the state’s development and reaffirmed his commitment to reconciliation.
Sanwo-Olu invited them to join the rebuilding effort in order to restore the working capabilities of institutions damaged in the 2020 disaster.
