Governor Ayade’s Former Aide Who Refused To Defect To APC Attacked By Armed Hoodlums

Barrister Mark Obi, a former Special Adviser to Cross River Governor Ben Ayade on Sustainable Development Goals, was attacked by armed hoodlums (SDGs)

Obi was reportedly attacked at his rural home in Oku, Boki Local Government Area, on Wednesday, July 28 at around 10 p.m.

It was reported that the governor’s key PDP ally has declined to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On June 7, 2021, the 62-year-old lawyer tendered his resignation, indicating his unwillingness to desert with Ayade from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling party.

Obi, a two-term member of the House of Assembly, also worked in former Governor Liyel Imoke’s government.
