Gov. Seyi Makinde Appoints New Chief of Staff

Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, selected Mr Segun Ogunwuyi as his new Chief of Staff on Monday.

The governor disbanded the state executive council last week, prompting Ogunwuyi’s appointment.

Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), confirmed Ogunwuyi’s appointment in a letter made available to Vanguard, adding that the appointment takes effect immediately.

Prior to his new position, Ogunwuyi served as the Governor’s Executive Assistant for Investment.

Following the adoption of the bill establishing the agency, he was named Director-General of the Oyo State Investment and Public-Private Partnership Agency (OYSIPPPA).

As the Director General of OYSIPPPA, Ogunwuyi has spearheaded a number of investment programs, including the Alternative Project Funding Approach (APFA), which has aided the state in the implementation of important infrastructure projects.

Between 2011 and 2015, Ogunwuyi, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, served in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

In 2015, he was elected to the House of Representatives to represent the Ogbomoso North/South and Oriire Federal Constituency.
