Gani Adams Pays Tribute To Mohammed Fawehinmi

The Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, has paid tribute to Mohammed Fawehinmi, the first son of late lawyer and activist Cheif Gani Fawehinmi.

Adams described Mohammed’s death as a shocking occurrence that has robbed the family of a valiant scion of the Fawehinmi dynasty, according to a statement made by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Aderemi.

He further described Mohammed as “a man of courage like his father, the late Gani Fawehinmi”.

He also applauded him for being up and about, as well as his resolve to “preserve his father’s legacies” during his lifetime.

He praised the late lawyer for stepping into his father’s huge shoes despite being confined to a wheelchair following a spinal cord injury in 2003.

“Mohammed never waivered in sustaining the numerous legacies of the late Gani Fawehinmi, especially, the law firm and its various publications which the erudite lawyer was noted for in his life,” he said.

Mohammed Fawehinmi was the Head of Mohammed Fawehinmi’s Chambers, Director of Nigerian Law Publications Limited, Director of Books Industries Nigeria Limited, and Director of Gani Fawehinmi Library & Gallery Limited before his death on Wednesday in a Lagos hospital.

To sum up Adams’ remark, the deceased will be remembered as the heir of the Fawehinmi dynasty, who stood for “…justice and fairness, especially to the poor and the downtrodden.”
