I Didn’t Expect To Win — Tinubu

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, has urged his opponents to join him in defeating the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 2023 presidential election.

This was said by Tinubu during his winning address at Eagle Square, where the APC primary was held.

Those who stepped down for him were praised by the previous governor.

Tinubu congratulated his supporters and delegates, emphasizing that he had no ill will toward anyone who did not vote for him.

“Let me not punish my president too long. The competition you offered made our party stronger and made me better. I am grateful to all of you.

“I hold no grudges and grievances. Let us work together to defeat PDP. They had 16 years, they depleted our resources, and they left us with hunger. They are the agent of poverty, terror and lying.”

He said, “Those who didn’t support me have nothing to fear. I hold no grudges. Let us all work together.”

He subsequently apologised to Buhari for keeping him waiting, saying, “Please forgive me for taking you this long. I didn’t expect to win but I won. Today is the only day I can punish you.”
