Matawalle Commiserates With Tambuwal Over Bandits’ Killing Of 42 Sokoto Passengers

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has expressed his condolences to Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State over the sorrowful occurrence in which a bus from Sabon Birni village in the state was halted and set fire by suspected bandits on Tuesday.

The death of 42 people, according to a press statement signed and issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Hon. Zailani Bappa, was not only heinous, but also a clear sign of the bandits’ desperate attempt to instill fear and apprehension across the North-West zone.

Governor Matawalle, who is now on a working tour to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), said the news of the heinous development left him horrified and perplexed.

“We in Zamfara State are familiar with many of their antics which is seemingly assuming different dimensions. We share at this moment our deep sympathy to those who lost their dear ones and pray that God Almighty will accept the martyrdom of the deceased”, the statement read.
