Emirate bans open grazing in Katsina metropolis

Open grazing has been banned within the Katsina metropolis and its surrounding communities.

The directive was contained in a statement signed by the Wakilin Kudin Katsina, Alhaji Abdu Iliyasu, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

Iliyasu said the directive became effective from Tuesday, August 3, 2021, adding that machinery had been put in place for its effective implementation.

A spokesman for the Katsina Emirate Council, Mallam Iro Bindawa, said he was out of town and could not comment on the development until he returned.

Governor Aminu Masari last month revealed that the President, Major General Muhammad Buhari (retd) approved N6.25bn for the state for a ranch project.

The governor disclosed that the Federal Government had already made N5bn available out of the total fund.
