Dwindling Resources: Kano cuts Ganduje, others political office holders salaries by 50%

The salary of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and other political office holders in Kano State have been slashed by 50 per cent due to dwindling resources.

It affected their March income.

The state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, made this known in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the action was due to a shortfall in the revenue accruing to the state from the federation account.

It affected the governor, deputy governor and all public office holders in the state, including all the Commissioners, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants, among others.

Garba said at the local government level, the salary slash affected the chairmen, vice-chairmen, elected councillors, supervisory councillors, advisers and secretaries of local governments.
