Court Suspends Uche Secondus As PDP National Chairman

Uche Secondus, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national chairman, was suspended by a state high court in Rivers on Monday.

The court complaint, filed by Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nina Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen, and Umezirike Onucha as claimants/applicants against Mr Secondus and the PDP as first and second defendants, sought, among other things, an order prohibiting Mr Secondus from posing as the PDP’s national chairman.

Justice O. Gbasam of the State High Court in Degema local government area of Rivers state delivered the court judgment cited by the NEWS DIRECT.

In his ruling, Mr Gbasam issued a restraining order against the “1st Defendant from parading himself as a member of the 2nd Defendant or National Chairman of the Defendant or performing the functions of National Chairman of the 2nd Defendant.”

Continuing, Mr Gbasam in the document restrained Mr Secondus from “calling, attending or presiding over any meeting of the 2nd Defendant or any Committee of the 2nd Defendants at Ward, Local Government or State Level… pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice for Interlocutory Injunction.”

Mr. Gbasam also approved the suspension of Secondus as a PDP member until the outcome of the move on notice for interlocutory injunction hearing.

The aggrieved parties, Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nna Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen, and Umezirike Onucha, were also given permission to serve all court orders and following proceedings to Mr Secondus’ address in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
