Chaos As Father Mbaka Removed From Adoration Ministry

Controversial Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest who started the parish Adoration Ministry, has lost his position as pastor.

Drama broke out on Sunday when the Enugu Catholic Diocese attempted to replace Mr. Mbaka with another priest. According to Sahara Reporters, the parishioners almost surrounded the new priest out of protest.

Callistus Onaga, the catholic bishop of the diocese, forbade Mr. Mbaka from engaging in politics and partisan speech in June.

Mr. Mbaka, a prominent Catholic and presidential candidate for the Labour Party, broke the rules by denouncing Peter Obi as stingy and unfit for office. Due to the negative response from the public, Mr. Onaga suspended Mr. Mbaka and shut down his adoration ministry.

Last week, however, Mr Mbaka’s Adoration ministry was reopened. But his parish members on Sunday resisted his replacement with another priest.
