BREAKING: Court Sacks Ahmed Lawan As APC Senatorial Candidate For Yobe North

After upholding the party’s 28 May 2022 primary election, a Federal High Court in Damaturu directed the All Progressives Congress (APC) to submit Bashir Shariff Machina’s name as the legitimate candidate for the Yobe North Senatorial District.

In a decision issued today in Damaturu, Justice Fadimatu Murtala also ruled that the parallel primary election held on June 9, 2022, which resulted in Ahmed Lawan becoming president of the Senate, was invalid.

Kolawale Balogun, the second dependent’s attorney, assured reporters that his client would receive suitable advice regarding the next step.
