Evil spirit asked me to rape minors –Suspect

A 24-year-old man, Isyaku Rabiu, has blamed an evil spirit for pushing him to defile minors.

Rabiu was arrested by the police in Niger State for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl at Auna town in Magama Local Government Area.

The suspect, it was learnt, specialised in defiling girls within the ages of six to nine.

He was apprehended by a team of policemen attached to the Nasko Division following a tip-off and an earlier report by mother of the victim, Zainab Mohammed.

It was learnt yesterday that the victim was on an errand when Rabiu reportedly dragged her to Nasko Central Primary School in the same area where he had sex with her.

When the girl returned from home, her mother noticed her strange behaviour and after questioning, she narrated how the suspect forcible slept with her.
Rabiu he had been sleeping with minors for more than two years.

He said: “I cannot explain why I derive joy in doing what I did. Most times, it looked like a dream, but may Allah forgive me.
“An evil spirit, on that fateful day, told me to drag her to the primary school to have sex with her.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Muhammad Abubakar, said the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Abubakar added that Rabiu had been charged to court.
