BUK students protest over death of their colleagues 

 

Students of Bayero University, Kano, on Monday came out in masses to protest over the alleged killing of their colleague at the University new site.

But the university’s spokesperson, Lamara Garba, in a statement on the incidence, said that the victim was not a student but a visitor.

The students on Monday were reported to have staged a protest following the news that the got widespread on social media.

The students marched within the campus with placards with several inscriptions demanding for safety from the management.

The called on the management to protect students following incessant reports of peace unrest in the school.

However, the spokesperson of the institution, Mr Garba while reacting to this said the person killed was not a student but a visitor.

According to Garba, the deceased person is identified was Adamu Sunusi-Shanono.

“The victim and the arrested suspects are not students of the university and the incident did not happen in the school,” Garba said.
