Ex-APC National Vice Chairman Reveals How Tinubu, Ganduje, NWC Members Played Dirty Politics

Accusing the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of engaging in manipulative politics, Dr. Salihu Lukman, a former National Vice Chairman, North-West, criticized the dissolution of the Rivers State APC executives at all levels.

Lukman alleged that the move was orchestrated by the NWC to pave the way for the emergence of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as the new leader of the party.

In a statement titled ‘End of Progressive Politics,’ Lukman pointed fingers at President Bola Tinubu and the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, accusing them of fostering “Garrison Politics” within the APC. He expressed concern that the dissolution of the Rivers State executives was a strategic move to position Wike’s loyalists in key roles within the party.

Lukman drew attention to Chief Tony Okocha, appointed to lead the seven-member Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, alleging that Okocha, a political ally of Wike, was given this responsibility to ensure that the new APC executives in the state would align with Wike’s interests.

He emphasized the perceived sidelining of Rotimi Amaechi and other APC Presidential aspirants for the 2023 elections, speculating that the NWC’s decisions were influenced by President Tinubu’s lack of interest in working with them.

Lukman questioned whether Tinubu supported the removal of Senator Abdulahi Adamu as the party chairman, only to install Ganduje, who would be amenable to Tinubu’s directives.

In summary, Lukman concluded, “With such reality, it simply means, the structures of APC in FCT will also be dissolved to produce new APC leaders at all levels of the party who will be loyal to Barr. Wike. And any state where APC is led by people who might have opposed President Asiwaju Tinubu will similarly be dissolved.”
