Nnamdi Kanu Sends Fresh Message To IPOB Members Amid Reports He Will Be Released

The embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has sent a new message to members of the separatist group amid ongoing speculations about his potential release from detention.

Kanu, currently held by the Department of State Services (DSS), has instructed his followers to remain steadfast. This directive was conveyed by his special counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.

During his routine meeting with Kanu, Ejimakor shared the directive, stating, “Update: I’ve concluded today’s visitation with Onyendu #MNK. In my company were Barr Mandela and Prince Emmanuel. MNK greets the faithful and loyal and directs that all should stay put and stay the course. He’s proud of those that have impacted positively and brought sanity to bear.”

There have been several reports that President Bola Tinubu-led federal government is planning to set Kanu free from detention. Some of those reports hinted that the IPOB Leader would he been released earlier but for the governorship election in Imo State. Now that the Imo election has come and gone, there is the likelihood that Kanu may be freed any time from now.
