Nnamdi Kanu: Sit-At-Home For 10 Years, Don’t Bring It To North — Arewa Youths Warn IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has been warned by the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, over its demand for the Middle Belt to join in shutting down Nigeria.

IPOB and the Southeast can sit-at-home for ten years, but they should remain away from the North, according to AYCF National President Yerima Shettima.

Recall that IPOB had encouraged agitators from the Middle Belt and the Oduduwa Nation to join its members in shutting down Nigeria on October 28.

If its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is not brought before a court on October 28, the pro-Biafra organization has threatened to shut down Nigeria for a month.

Shettima reacted by saying that IPOB’s conduct was a premeditated attempt to exacerbate Nigeria’s security problems.

Shettima reiterated in a statement signed Tuesday and given to DAILY POST that the North would not be a party to “a purposeful, politically motivated attempt to undermine or worsen the nation’s current security challenges.”

He emphasized that IPOB’s attempt to “export” its actions to the North will be met with opposition.

The AYCF National President bemoaned the fact that Southeast governors appear to be unconcerned about the region’s pro-Biafra agitators’ activities.

“We hope they will continue with the sit-at-home for another 10 years and we wish them the best of luck,” he added, adding that the governors of the Southeast appear satisfied with IPOB’s efforts.

“We understand that IPOB is based in the southeast, but exporting their operations to the north will face huge opposition from all North African peace activists.”

Shettima also advised Northern governors to ensure that IPOB’s activities do not invade the region.

He added: “We call on northern governors to step up action in order to ensure this outlawed terror gang called IPOB does not infiltrate the region. We also expect the governors to ensure that any northerner who shuts down his shop in solidarity with IPOB, that shop should be sealed forever.

“And for the avoidance of doubt, we will not fold our arms and watch the North get further destabilized by a violent strategy, whether in Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Niger or any state in Northern Nigeria because our hands are already full with challenges of insecurity and we are praying fervently day and night to find lasting peace”.
