APC’s Tinubu Names His Top Two Prospects For The 2023 Presidential Election
Sam Nkire, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus, predicts that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, will win handily in 2023.
Nkire cited the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) continuous instability as evidence that the PDP has no chance of winning the 2023 presidential election.
The APC stalwart based his prognostication on the troubling indications that five governors of the opposition PDP might have deserted the party.
Nkire, in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, recounted how the PDP lost the support of five governor in 2014 and subsequently lost the election.
The APC chieftain opined that history is about to repeat itself.
He said, “whenever the PDP loses the full support of five governors, it loses the presidential election.
“That the main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party appears unable to reconcile with its five governors, was good omen for the ruling All Progressives Congress to tighten its grip on power by recording another resounding victory over the PDP, come 2023”
The five governors in question are Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue and Seyi Makinde of Oyo.
