Student Who Smuggled ‘Squid Game’ Into North Korea Sentenced To Death

According to reports, a man in North Korea has been sentenced to death for sneaking copies of Netflix’s smash series “Squid Game” into the nation.

The viral South Korean survival thriller “Squid Game” depicts a group of competitors competing in a secret survival game with a final prize pool of approximately $40 million.

Authorities arrested the man after high school pupils were spotted watching the series, according to Radio Free Asia (via Variety).

“Squid Game” was smuggled into North Korea from China via a USB flash drive, according to reports.

The smuggler faces execution by firing squad, while the kids who brought “Squid Game” into the school face jail time.

Radio Free Asia report read: “A student who bought a drive received a life sentence, while six others who watched the show have been sentenced to five years hard labor, and teachers and school administrators have been fired and face banishment to work in remote mines.”
