BREAKING: Nigerian Artist, Yusuf Grillo Is Dead

Prof. Yusuf Grillo, a veteran visual artist, has died as a result of COVID-19 complications.

On Monday, Gboyega Grillo, the deceased’s son, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.

Gtillo was 86 years old when he died.

He stated that his father passed away in the early hours of August 23, 2021.

Grillo, who couldn’t contain his emotions, said he was in such much pain that he couldn’t speak to the media because of the shock and funeral arrangements.

He said his father’s remains would be buried today at 4 p.m. in Lagos’ Atan cemetery.

Grillo is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most talented and well-educated painters.
