BREAKING: Lagos Assembly Reduces Former Governors’ Pension

Former governors of Lagos State have had their pensions lowered by 50% by the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The decision was made after the House Committee on Establishment adopted a report recommending a 50% decrease in pensions for former governors and other concerned officials, according to a statement released on Thursday.

The committee also revoked the provision of houses for ex-governors in Abuja and Lagos, as required in an earlier state-enacted statute.

The number of automobiles accessible to past governors and their deputies was also reduced, according to the report.

Former governors should be given two vehicles (a car and a van), rather than the three recommended by the committee, according to House Speaker Mudashiru Obasa.

He also advised that, instead of the three years recommended by the report, the cars be replaced every four years under the updated report.
