BREAKING: Islamiyat Yusuf Wins Nigeria’s 4th Medal At Commonwealth Games

Yusuf Islamiyat Adebukola, a weightlifter, won the women’s 64 kg division by snatching and clean and jerking 93 kg, 116 kg, and 119 kg for a total lift of 212 kg.

The current Commonwealth Games have seen Nigeria bring home two gold and two bronze medals.

With 206KG in the Women’s 59KG category on Sunday, Folashade Lawal Rafiatu broke the previous record for the Commonwealth Games.

She won the gold medal, Nigeria’s second at the current Commonwealth Games, and came in first place.

Umoafia Edidiong, a lifter from Nigeria, also took home a bronze medal in the Men’s 67KG division.

Umoafia won the second medal for Nigeria by snatching 130 kg and clean and jerking 160 kg for a total of 290 kg.

Adijat Adenike Olarinoye had on Saturday recorded a total of 203kg in the women’s 55kg weightlifting event to win Nigeria’s first gold medal in the games.
