BREAKING: Herdsmen Butcher Family Of Six, Others, Eight Corpses Recovered In Benue

After a violent attack by armed men believed to be Fulani herdsmen in the Abagana neighborhood of Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, at least eight bodies have been found.

The attack was carried out late Thursday when the armed men stormed the neighborhood close to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camp in Abagana, according to Paul Hemba, Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Benue State Governor, who verified the incidence to our correspondent.

Paul Hemba claims that members of the security team and other villagers have been searching the local bushes for any further victims who may have been shot by the intruders.

He claimed that the tragic incident killed all six members of a family in their entirety.

Hemba further stated that the attack was unprovoked as the villagers were already set to go to bed when they met their untimely deaths at the hands of the Fulani bandits.

According to the Security Adviser, the casualty figure may likely rise as some other persons who were fatally shot and wounded may not survive the injuries to their chests.
