BREAKING: Father Mbaka Banned From Commenting On Political Matters

Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), has been barred from commenting on party politics by the Catholic Church.

According to the Cable, Callistus Onaga, Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, switched the adoration ministry to chaplaincy in a letter to the priest.

As a result of the change, Mbaka will no longer be the sole spiritual director of the ministry, as it has been renamed chaplaincy, which places it under the administration of the Enugu Diocese and provides the bishop the authority to designate a chaplain to oversee its operations.

The bishop further noted that he has the authority to designate any ministerial officer “to assist the chaplains in overseeing the ministry’s pastoral activities.”

During Mbaka’s return to church activities, which had been suspended following his one-month private retreat, these directions were issued.
