BREAKING: Croatia beat Brazil on penalty, book semi-finals place

On Friday, Croatia defeated Brazil 4-2 in a shootout to go to the World Cup semifinals against either Argentina or the Netherlands.

After extra time, the score remained 1-1, with Bruno Petkovic canceling out Neymar’s spectacular solo goal to start the game.

Following a 1-1 deadlock after extra time, the World Cup quarterfinal between Croatia and Brazil was decided on penalties.

In stunning scenes in Qatar, Bruno Petkovic equalized Neymar’s goal towards the end of the first term of extra time.

Neymar scored against Croatia to tie Pele’s record of 77 goals for Brazil. In extra time, the striker scored a close-range goal to give Brazil the lead and tie Pele’s record of goals scored between 1957 and 1971.
