BREAKING: Buhari Signs 2022 Budget Into Law

President Muhammadu Buhari signed the appropriation bill for 2022 on Friday.

At a ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari signed the bill into law.

Senator Babajide Omoworare, Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant (Senate) on National Assembly Matters, submitted the appropriation bill to him.

While signing the bill into law, Buhari was surrounded by the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

This comes around seven days after the National Assembly passed and delivered the appropriation bill to the president.

The budget spending was enhanced by N735.8 billion from the projected N16.391 trillion to N17.126 trillion by the two houses. They also increased the oil benchmark from the executive’s planned $57 per barrel to $62.

On Friday, the President signed the national budget in the Presidential Villa’s Council Chamber in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
