BREAKING: Boko Haram Terrorists Invade Borno Community, Burn Houses, Loot Shops

Militants from Boko Haram’s Islamic State-backed West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd, stormed a community in Borno State, demolishing buildings and stealing shops.

Terrorists assaulted Komdi village in the Damboa Local Government Area of the state on Monday night, razing numerous homes, according to SaharaReporters.

“The rebels in huge numbers arrived in the village in pickup vehicles and motorcycles at about 5pm, shooting heavy artillery,” a security source told SaharaReporters.

People were compelled to flee for their lives, and they remained indoors as the firing continued.

He went on to say that the army defeated the terrorists in a gunfight and forced them to flee.

ISWAP has been consolidating its influence in areas around Lake Chad since the death of JAS commander Abubakar Shekau.

Wali Sani Shuwaram, 45, was recently appointed as the new Leader (Wali) of ISWAP in Lake Chad.

Hundreds of Boko Haram fighters have defected to Shekau, increasing the sect’s membership.

The Nigerian Army has stated that the insurgency has been mostly defeated on numerous occasions, while downplaying any losses.

The terror group has killed approximately 50,000 people and displaced millions of people, mostly in the states of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe.
